International Actors in Peace Processes
At the end of the Cold War, the international community with the UN,IOs and local governments recognized the new challenge and moved to activate the UN and other organizations like Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe(OSCE), founding mission which was to tackle the new wave of wars.International actors faced the new situation with o holistic peace-building(PB) approach to build and maintain peace, fortify its resilience to new ways of violence by promoting priorities beyond security or military issues. The holistic approach treats peace within a complex of interactions between governance and international actors as well as economic equality, democratic legitimacy, socio-cultural inclusion and the role og religion in the new framework. It is important to understand the causes and the transformation of new conflicts for a better interpretation of contemporary wars within the concept of Global Governance, and how this is impacting peace processes.
